Our sweet Winnie girl,

What can I say that could possibly sum up getting to spend 16 years with you? You were with me for every milestone I had since I hit double digits, you came with me to college, were with me when I met and married my husband (who turned out to be your favorite human, even more than me!), and you've been my best friend through all of it.

You came to our family after experiencing the worst that humanity had to offer, and yet you didn't let it stop you from loving your new family from day one. You taught so many people what it means to love unconditionally, and I can only hope you felt our unconditional love in return. I remember when someone accidentally stepped on your paw. When I came home you were limping so you could get sympathy, but you were limping on the wrong paw! You still got sympathy and lots of treats anyway, of course. I remember when you and Frankie tag teamed to steak king sized chocolate bar off the table when we were making smores. You made us chase you around the whole yard to get it back. I remember when you stole my sister's little stuffed frog and refused to let it go. It was your favorite toy the whole time we had you. Don't worry, I made sure you could take it with you. Snuggle it whenever you miss me and think about how so very loved you are.

I remember when you moved with me to New York. You were so scared every time we got out of the car to pump gas. You would bark and howl so loud that strangers across the parking lot were concerned about you, and I had to explain that you just *really* hate car rides. I also remember taking you for lots of drives so you wouldn't be as anxious next time, and when we moved to Wisconsin you were calm the whole way there. You've lived with us in 3 states, visited 9 states with us, and even traveled internationally. Every adventure we've had, you've been right there with us.

So many of my favorite memories have you in them, and I don't know how I'm going to make any without you. But even still, I'm so grateful for everything you've been here for, every moment we got, and everything you've taught me. I'm relieved to know you're not suffering and I'll picture you young, happy, healthy, and sitting in the sun or in front of a warm fireplace.

We'll love and miss you forever. Don't worry my darling, we'll be with you again someday. Go find Frankie and tell him we love and miss him too- he'll show you the coziest spots to curl up in the sun while you both wait for us. We love you so, so much sweet girl!
