Henry
Henry, our beloved little dude, passed away peacefully, leaving a void in our hearts that will never be filled. Known for his unwavering loyalty and boundless love, Henry was a cherished companion and buddy to all who knew him.
Henry's favorite pastimes were a testament to his joyful spirit. He had an endless love for balls and toys--especially his snakes, always eager to chase and fetch, his eyes lighting up with every throw. A true sunshine sponge, Henry could often be found basking in the warm rays, savoring the simple pleasure of a sunny day.
He was happiest during his visits to Auntie Jamie's farm, where he relished the open spaces, farm buddies and the freedom to explore. Henry was a social butterfly, delighting in having visitors over and making everyone feel welcome with his wagging tail and affectionate nature. He especially loved visitors like Auntie Sage, who brought dogs with for some friendly fun.
Crafting sessions with his Auntie Amie were special times, as Henry would curiously observe and sometimes lend a paw. He took his role as inspector very seriously, always ensuring Auntie Lauren's bags were thoroughly examined upon her arrival. Following Grandpa Howard everywhere he went was a routine he never missed, a small act that showed his protective and caring nature.
Henry loved snuggling with Auntie Nikki and Auntie Marlene, offering warmth and comfort with his presence. His cuddles were a source of solace, and his gentle demeanor made him the perfect companion for a quiet moment of reflection.
One of Henry's most cherished activities was going on daily "sniffaris" with his parents and sister, Cali. These adventures were filled with exploration and discovery, bringing joy to Henry's days. Cali, with her energetic zoomies through the living room, kept Henry on his toes. Even when he didn't know where she was, he would have a smile on his face, eagerly waiting to see her pop up--even if she was right behind him.
Henry's adventurous spirit led him to some beautiful places. He had the chance to visit Devil's Lake a couple times and Kettle Moraine, where he explored new trails and soaked in the natural beauty around him. We will miss so many things about Henry: his "fun police" demeanor, alerting us to every movement in the neighborhood; his constant in and out of the backyard for diligent perimeter checks; his innate ability to craft the world's greatest nest for sleeping; his howling at fire trucks and ambulances; his sweet kisses on our cheeks as we fed him; and the way he'd always vanish and then become dead weight when we found him for bath time. Henry taught us so much about dogs and was a quick learner when it came to training, which made knowing him a joy.
Though Henry is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His playful energy, loving spirit, and the joy he brought into our lives will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Henry. You were truly one of a kind.
